Last month saw Motivation Australia complete a mentoring and support visit to work with the team at ASSERT in Dili, East Timor. Last year ASSERT participated in piloting the World Health Organisation's intermediate level Wheelchair Service Provision training course. Since then, ASSERT have been working with children and adults who need additional support to sit upright in their wheelchair.

Six ASSERT staff worked with Motivation Australia to run a intermediate children's wheelchair clinic; this clinic was an opportunity to consolidate and build on the skills learned and practiced since the training course. Seven children received their first wheelchair from ASSERT staff utilising the Wheelchair For Kids and Motivation Direct wheelchairs.

This mentoring and support visit was funded by the World Health Organisation, and local fundraising efforts in Australia.
