Motivation Australia and ASSERT joined together to pilot the World Health Organisation Wheelchair Service Delivery Training Package in July 2011. Two Motivation Australia consultants delivered the intermediate module for 16 ASSERT staff.

Ten wheelchair users participated in the practical sessions, each receiving a wheelchair more suited to their physical and environmental needs than before.

Feedback from the trainers, participants and wheelchair users will help in the final development of the WHO Training Package. The training formed a part of the ongoing training and capacity development partnership between Motivation Australia and ASSERT. It was also an opportunity for Motivation Australia and ASSERT to work with the revised Wheelchairs for Kids wheelchairs - re-designed with input from Motivation Australia.
