Jane Alver is currently the Director of Effectiveness & Engagement at the Australian Council for International Development. She is also a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Canberra. Jane has been a gender equality advocate for more than 25 years, at the local, national and global levels. Jane has experience living and working in the Pacific, conducting technical assistance and training in Nauru, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, PNG, Tuvalu, and Fiji. She holds degrees in Government, Law and Women’s Studies and her PhD research focus is on forming strategic alliances for Pacific regional gender equality. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the 50/50 by 2030 Foundation. She was named as a 2018 Woman of Influence by the Australian Financial Review.
