Tom first volunteered with Motivation Australia in the Diabetes Clinic and Rehabilitation Department at Vaiola Hospital in Tonga. You can read his interview here.

Before joining our team Tom was working as a high risk generalist podiatrist in Port Augusta Hospital, South Australia. Tom has stated that within Podiatry he is interested in many areas, particularly, high risk diabetic foot care, wound healing and biomechanics. He has a passion for education and values its impact as a tool in health and development. Tom has been fortunate enough to further develop and utilise his skills in a variety of communities while working and studying including the APY Lands, Kiribati, Whyalla Hospital, Tibooburra with The Royal Flying Doctor and now Tonga.

Tom is very excited to be joining the team and is passionate about contributing to support communities with challenges regarding access to services and resources. He is looking forward to being able to utilise his skills and knowledge to contribute to our projects with the goal of making a positive and lasting impact on community needs in international development.

Role: Tom’s new role is a clinical project officer working on multiple programs in conjunction with the clinical team.
