Practical Design Fund project

Motivation Australia in collaboration with the Aboriginal Resource Development Service Inc. (ARDS) have recently completed a project as part of the Australian Government Practical Design Fund programme. This FaHCSIA programme is in preparation for the national disability insurance scheme, DisabilityCare Australia, which commences in July 2013.

The project Yolngu Information sharing and clarity of understanding consisted of five community visits to carry out Discovery Education sessions in Ramingining, Milingimbi, Galiwin’ku, Gapuwiyak and Darwin, and a workshop was held in Darwin in the first half of 2013. This project is part of a wider strategy to promote the use of an Inclusive Community Development aproach to working with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders living in remote Australian communities.
