Papua New Guinea now has its first national wheelchair service training team! Nine personnel from the National Orthotics and Prosthetics Service (NOPS) and Cheshire Disability Services have completed a Training of Trainers (TOT) course in Lae, PNG. This training was focused on the preparation and delivery of the World Health Organisations basic level Wheelchair Service Training Package (WSTP-B).
This team is now able to deliver high quality basic level wheelchair service training to local staff and personnel who work to provide appropriate wheelchairs for people with a mobility disability in PNG. Congratulations to all trainees who worked very hard to achieve this milestone!
