This structured mentoring program aims to strengthen rehabilitation and mobility device services in the Pacific Island countries by developing the capabilities of their health professionals. Mentors will help their mentees:
- Build their confidence and technical knowledge
- Develop their networking skills
- Grow their leadership capacity
This will be achieved by:
- Providing them with career guidance
- Giving insights and different perspectives on their work
- Facilitating a non-judgemental space to ask questions
A mentor can be thought of as a coach, advisor or counsellor; they are someone who can provide advice, insight and perspective on a wide range of topics to help the mentee achieve their goals or better understand professional situations, workplace culture, leadership and goal setting.
